Job Summary
The communications specialist works closely with the agency’s public relations director and account teams to support media and public engagement initiatives for clients. The individual will support the management of several clients’ accounts and execute outlined communications strategies, including content development, media outreach, community engagement and event management.
Responsibilities:
- Align communications, media and promotional activities with business goals
- Support the public relations director to develop and implement communications plans and campaigns
- Develop press releases, pitch emails, case studies or business proposals for a variety of clients
- Coordinate and plan events, press conferences, webinars and seminars in support of client objectives
- Manage media inquiries and arrange interviews for client executives
- Create and manage editorial calendars
- Distill and report the performance of campaign strategies and improve approaches as necessary
- Create recaps and presentations that provide insights into the corresponding results
- Contribute to client meetings by making recommendations and providing updates on performance, tracking goals and corresponding results
Professional Qualifications
- 5 years experience in marketing, communications, public relations or related field
- Previous experience working in a multicultural agency is preferred
- Spanish-language proficiency preferred
- Ability to understand complex issues and topics, digest them and communicate them clearly to a broad audience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, program and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively

This individual leads the Public Relations/Communications efforts for various clients, including
building relationships with media, community and influencers and orchestrating activations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and strengthen client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring client satisfaction by delivering effective communication solutions and addressing their needs.
- Strategize, plan, and execute innovative PR campaigns and activations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and brand messaging.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement campaigns, overseeing timelines, budgets, and KPIs for successful execution.
- Devise and implement comprehensive media relations strategies, aiming for prominent placements in diverse media channels, including print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers, securing high-level media coverage for the organization.
- Handle and respond to media inquiries and interview requests promptly, ensuring the delivery of accurate information and maintaining positive relationships with the media.
- Develop a range of communications materials, including press releases, fact sheets, flyers, website content, one-pagers, and thought leadership articles, maintaining consistent brand voice and messaging across various platforms. Proficiency in AP Style is necessary.
- Copyedit, proofread, and revise communication materials as necessary to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to the brand’s tone and style guidelines.
- Lead and orchestrate the flawless execution of activations and events, managing logistics,
team coordination, etc.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, compiling client-ready reports and recaps showcasing the outcomes of PR efforts, including media coverage, clippings, and media trackers.
Professional Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience Requirement: Minimum of 10 years in PR/communications, demonstrating progressively responsible roles.
- Media Relations: Proven success in securing media coverage across diverse platforms.
- Writing Skills: Strong writing, editing, and varied communication format expertise.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to devise and implement PR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Leadership: Experience managing teams and overseeing project execution.
- Event Management: Skilled in planning and executing successful events.
- Media tracking and reporting: Capability to measure campaign effectiveness using metrics and analytics.
- AP Style Proficiency: Familiarity with AP Style guidelines for writing and communications.
