Job Summary

The communications specialist works closely with the agency’s public relations director and account teams to support media and public engagement initiatives for clients. The individual will support the management of several clients’ accounts and execute outlined communications strategies, including content development, media outreach, community engagement and event management.

Responsibilities:

  • Align communications, media and promotional activities with business goals 
  • Support the public relations director to develop and implement communications plans and campaigns
  • Develop press releases, pitch emails, case studies or business proposals for a variety of clients
  • Coordinate and plan events, press conferences, webinars and seminars in support of client objectives 
  • Manage media inquiries and arrange interviews for client executives
  • Create and manage editorial calendars 
  • Distill and report the performance of campaign strategies and improve approaches as necessary
  • Create recaps and presentations that provide insights into the corresponding results 
  • Contribute to client meetings by making recommendations and providing updates on performance, tracking goals and corresponding results

Professional Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in marketing, communications, public relations or related field 
  • Previous experience working in a multicultural agency is preferred
  • Spanish-language proficiency preferred 
  • Ability to understand complex issues and topics, digest them and communicate them clearly to a broad audience 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, program and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
